Overview

VocaSync is a text-to-speech synthesis, forced alignment, and audio transcription platform that helps you generate audio from text, align audio with transcripts, and convert audio to text. We only collect information needed to deliver the service, process payments, improve the platform, and keep it secure. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.

Information we collect

  • Account data such as your name, email address, and billing details processed via Stripe.
  • Usage data including API calls, project activity, credit consumption, and configuration settings.
  • Content you upload or generate, including audio files, transcripts, synthesized outputs, and subtitle files.
  • Technical data such as IP address, browser type, and device information for security and troubleshooting.
  • Cookies used for authentication via Clerk and essential platform functionality.

How we use information

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the VocaSync service.
  • Authenticate users and secure accounts.
  • Personalize workflows, templates, and recommendations.
  • Monitor performance, analyze trends, and improve features.
  • Communicate product updates, support responses, and security notices.

Sharing and disclosures

We share information only with service providers essential to operating VocaSync: Clerk for authentication, Stripe for payment processing, Cloudflare R2 for file storage, OpenAI for text-to-speech synthesis, Replicate for audio transcription (WhisperX), and Convex for database services. We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and integrity of VocaSync.

Data retention

We retain account and billing information for as long as your account is active. Project files and generated outputs are stored until you delete them or close your account—there is no automatic expiry. You can delete files anytime from your dashboard and request full account deletion at any time. We will process deletion requests within 30 days in accordance with applicable laws. Some data may be retained for legal or compliance purposes.

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), secure API key hashing, and access controls. Files are stored securely on Cloudflare R2. Authentication is handled by Clerk with support for multi-factor authentication. While no system is perfectly secure, we continuously monitor and improve our protections.

Your choices

  • Access, update, or delete your profile information.
  • Adjust cookie preferences in your browser settings.
  • Opt out of non-essential product emails using the links we provide.

International transfers

VocaSync may process information in regions where we or our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Children's privacy

VocaSync is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will post the latest version on this page and update the effective date.
